There's nothing really wrong with this hike, but it's also not at the top of the list to recommend. You can see and hear the freeway a significant portion of the hike, and there's a stretch of fire road that's dull. It's also entirely exposed, without any shade.

But still this hike wasn't without its charms. The steep sections of trail were neat and there's some nice views.

The fireroad wasn't particularly exciting.

But at least flowers were still blooming.

Nice views from up high, but it's hard to escape the 52 freeway.

Not too many critters out on this trail.
